Video To DVD Transfers

Sydney DVD Makers have transferred 1000’s of clients videos onto DVD over the
last 13 years, and in that time we have being refining our process and now have
our premium transfer service to what we believe is by far Australia’s best DVD
transfer, so please come into our showroom and have a look for yourself,
we would love to show you our range of transfer services, including our latest
development, the disc-less transfer.

If you have a large collection of tapes, bring them into us and free of charge we will
check the lengths of them by fast forwarding every tape, and see if we can also
establish a chronological order and then provide you with a detailed quote by
email for all 3 of our transfer services

What our transfers DO include tick

  • video formats including VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, Digital 8 and Mini-DV
  • up to 3 tapes onto the one disc (extra tapes onto same disc at $5.00 per tape)
  • chronological placement of the tapes onto the disc (were ever possible)
  • capture and digitise your footage using only professional grade equipment
  • removal of white image noise at the beginning and end of the tapes
  • removal of all blue/grey screen, static, filming while the lens cap has being left on
    etc (premium and deluxe only)
  • two pass variable bit encoding for the picture image and Dolbly Digital sound for
    the audio
  • we only use Taiyo Yuden DVD discs (masters, not OEM’s),the worlds best archival
grade disc and the only disc still made in Japan
  • free transfer of the encoded MPEG files (that we use to make your DVD) to your
external hard-drive (premium and deluxe only
  • motion menus with thumbnail videos of the chapter markers from scene changes
    (deluxe transfer only)
  • encoding to .AVI or .MOV for editing on your computer (optional extra)

What our transfers DON’T include cross

  • creating DVD’s from domestic recorders and without any computer intervention
at all ( yes if we did this we could probably charge only $15.00 per tape as well)
  • Ritek or any other no brand name DVD disc’s to archive your precious memories
  • putting 3 or 4 hours onto one disc ( really bad idea in terms of picture quality,
due to low data bit rates, no more the 2 hours should ever be put onto one disc)
  • putting one tape onto one disc regardless of the time length of the tape
( if someone is charging a per tape cost, generally this is what they are doing,
whats the point in having only 15 minutes on a disc ?)
